Stuart Russell (born 1962) is a computer scientist known for his contributions to artificial intelligence.

Stuart Russell was born in Portsmouth, England. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree with first-class honours in Physics from Wadham College, Oxford in 1982, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University in 1986. He then joined the faculty of the University of California, Berkeley, where he is currently Professor of Computer Science[1]. In 2003 he was inducted as a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery.[2]

Stuart Russell is an author of the textbook Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach[3] (together with Peter Norvig).
